ZBA approves carport variance, tattoo shop permit

Pembroke's Zoning Board of Appeals approved a carport variance and a tattoo shop permit. Chairman Frederick Casavant presided as the board granted Noel Heron a side-yard setback variance at 21 Allen Street, conditioned on the carport staying nine feet from the lot line, down from the proposed three to four feet against a 20-foot requirement. A member said a hardship claim could not rest on truck access to the backyard.

The board also approved Catherine Black's special permit for Black Cat Tattoo at 254 Church Street, Unit 4, limiting hours to Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A member called it "an allowed use by special permits." Members continued Susan Bollinger's appeal of the Scuse Street battery storage approval to April 13.
