Zoning Board Delays Veterans Park Variance Case

Zoning Board · Meeting of September 14, 2026

Pembroke Zoning Board stalls on Veterans Park amphitheater, lacking a quorum. The board accepted the withdrawal of Stephen Brandon's special permit application for continued outdoor storage at a 447 Washington Street landscaping business, with member Brian McDonald saying, "I accept the withdrawal." Minutes later, the board said it could not open testimony on a variance sought by the Veterans Memorial Park Revitalization Working Group, represented by Chris Perry, to set a proposed amphitheater 12.5 feet from a side lot line instead of the required 20 feet, "because the Board does not have a quorum present." That case, Case 16-26, was continued to October 19. The board also renewed its appeal for residents to apply to join the Zoning Board of Appeals, directing inquiries to Lindsay Mace at Town Hall.
