Pembroke Select Board voted 4-1 to ratify Town Manager William Chenard's contract after a closed-door negotiating session. Before the vote, member John G. Brown Jr. announced the death of longtime resident and veteran Frank Tobin, 89.
The board first voted unanimously by roll call to enter executive session under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 30A, Section 21(a)(2) to negotiate the contract. Returning to open session, the board approved the agreement 4-1, with one unidentified member voting no and explaining on the record that he could not support "the terms as presented, given what I view as unresolved performance and conduct issues continuing."
