Select Board · Meeting of July 15, 2026
Pembroke's Select Board unanimously adopted a rewritten charter for its General Bylaw Review Committee, leaving the panel's term length for later resolution. Select Board members Steve Ciciotti and Tracy Marino presented the reform, which sets the committee at five members, one Select Board liaison and four citizens at large, with annual self-organization and a defined review scope. Town Manager William Chenard reported the town will net just over $166,000 in added FY27 state aid and $251,668.79 through the state's Winter Recovery Assistance Program after FEMA denied Massachusetts' major disaster declaration request for February's blizzard.
The board also opened the Fall Special Town Meeting warrant for August 10 to August 14, ahead of an October 20 town meeting, and approved a one-day liquor license for the Pembroke Arts Festival on August 7. Vice Chair Sean Keegan urged colleagues to "put the conflict aside, sit down with the town manager, and work together."
