Pembroke's Select Board approved three licenses and pressed Town Manager William Chenard for firm deadlines on stalled public works bids.
Select Board · Meeting of June 17, 2026
Pembroke's Select Board approved three licenses and pressed Town Manager William Chenard for firm deadlines on stalled public works bids. The board unanimously approved a precious metals license transfer to Ryan Frasca's Bellestar Jewelry, a mobile food vendor renewal for April Lawton's Streetpops South Shore, and a special one-day liquor license for the Pembroke Foundation's June 29 fundraiser, despite Chris Perry filing just 19 days ahead of the board's 30-day rule, prompting a warning it "shouldn't happen ever again." Officials announced $867,555.10 in fiscal 2027 Chapter 90 road funding and a $251,668 snow and ice supplement that still leaves a gap. The board also pushed back on Chenard over years-long delays posting bids for a Herring Run-area parking lot and the Furnace Pond boat ramp, and discussed Brockton's unannounced emergency withdrawal of roughly 12 million gallons of water amid the ongoing drought.
