Conservation Commission clears Monroe Street barn
Pembroke Conservation Commission cleared a cold storage barn at 163 Monroe St. with a negative determination.
Conservation · Meeting of February 5, 2026
Pembroke Conservation Commission cleared a cold storage barn at 163 Monroe St. with a negative determination. The homeowner's Request for Determination of Applicability showed a corner of the barn entering the 100-foot wetland buffer, about 10 to 12 feet into bordering vegetated wetland on previously disturbed, flat ground. Conservation Administrative Agent Andrew Wandell had advised adding a silt sock, and commissioners agreed on a 10-inch size.
Members asked the applicant to confirm that the driveway is gravel, though MassMapper lists it as impervious, and asked how sediment would be kept from wet areas. A member asked to be called once sediment controls are installed. The commission also accepted the January 8 minutes.
