Conservation · Meeting of July 2, 2026

Pembroke Conservation Commission continued a hearing on a 22-unit development after an abutters' attorney filed a late objection. Chair Gino Fellini said the commission received the letter from Attorney Donald Nagel too close to the 7 p.m. meeting to review, and Vice Chair Robert Kenney's motion to push the hearing on 660 Washington Street, DEP# 056-1140, to August 6 passed unanimously. Administrative Agent Andrew Wandell told the board, "You generally don't get at-large members who engage for any length of time," arguing against making the struggling Open Space Committee too dependent on volunteers as members debated dissolving and restructuring it into a five-member, board-appointed subcommittee.

The commission also granted a third and final extension, to August 4, 2029, on a stalled pool permit at 23 Bristol Road. Members voted 6-0 by roll call to enter executive session over pending litigation, Spath v. Pembroke Conservation Commission.
