Pembroke Zoning Board Approves Fairwood Drive In-Law Apartment Permit

PEMBROKE — June 10, 2024 — Pembroke Zoning Board approves special permit for attached in-law apartment at 181 Fairwood Drive. The three-member panel — Vice Chair Chris McGrail, clerk John Gernie, and member Fraser Townley — voted unanimously Monday to grant Case 4-24, a special permit sought by Michael and Catherine Ducheney to construct an attached in-law apartment on their existing three-bedroom property. The 7.92-acre lot clears both the 20-foot side yard and 25-foot rear setback requirements, with the proposed addition sitting 30 feet from the side line. The applicants also presented stamped septic engineering drawings from Shane McGlone showing a new 1,000-gallon tank would be added alongside a recently replaced system. A 20-day appeal period now runs before a stamped decision can be delivered to the building department.
