Ciciotti seeks reelection, touts water infrastructure and 40B progress as top priorities

PEMBROKE — May 2, 2025 — Pembroke Select Board member Steve Ciciotti made his case for reelection in a candidate interview recorded by the town's community access TV. Ciciotti, first elected in 2022 with what he described as a 61 percent supermajority, identified water infrastructure as his top priority, saying aging pipes and a high-manganese well dating back 80 to 90 years are driving discolored water complaints from some residents. He said a Water Infrastructure Master Plan developed by a contracted firm is expected this fall and will target replacement of up to five miles of pipe per year, funded through the Water Enterprise Fund rather than the tax levy. Ciciotti also said Pembroke is close to crossing the 10 percent subsidized housing threshold under Chapter 40B — which he called a first for any town in the region — and supports bringing a South Shore Vocational Technical High School membership vote to town meeting. Early voting runs May 1 through May 14, with Election Day on May 17.
