Pembroke Nurse Killam Seeks Board of Health Seat in May 17 Election

PEMBROKE -- May 2, 2025, Registered nurse Melissa Killam announced her candidacy for the Pembroke Board of Health in a recorded statement aired on community access TV. Killam, a 24-year Pembroke resident, cited nearly three decades of nursing and public health advocacy experience as her chief qualifications. She named fluoride in the water supply, plastic-waste reduction bylaws, and support for town health employees as priorities, and expressed backing for the South Shore 5 Public Health Alliance's regional approach to public health. No meeting of the Board of Health took place in the recording; the statement is a stand-alone candidate presentation. Voters will decide the seat on Saturday, May 17.
